Positivity Part III

lyrics

7 AM, everyday.
I get out of bed and get way too baked.
Forget to shave, put on some shades,
and then to my dismay I'm off to be a slave.
This cage of mine has paper bars,
and the prison guards drive expensive cars.
While other inmates are watching stars
I'm not allowed to peek, I don't have the right cards.
But the scars on my arms aren't made of silk,
the way I'm built make me move like silt;
and in my younger years my mamma made me drink milk,
tucked me in under purple quilts.
I'm seeing flowers wilt as I move along,
they decay around me like I don't belong.
I'm prone to yawn at the crack of dawn,
with 2 pots of coffee, can't go wrong.

but I keep my kicks tied tight just in case,
because you never know when you gotta run a race.
A ball of water and dirt spinning in space,
some people call it earth, I think I like this place.
But if I don't have to work the alarms not on,
old news, no snooze, and the shades are drawn.
I'm fond of righting wrongs and I came from beyond,
so open your mouth and sing this song!

7 P.M. kick the shoes off.
Lose my focus for a moment, cough.
Kind blind, everything's fine, time will tell
'till ten we'll tell them we're turning in tunes that bruise brains
who can't hang. Blame it on the pain and suffering
in other countries when you can't love anything
enough to be somebody that cares enough to stare into space
dreaming of a better race. Place your thoughts properly,
not sloppily, on a paper mache representation of life today.
Go to sleep and forget to pray.
Just play in your thoughts for another day,
just play in ya, play in ya, play in ya, play in ya...

but I keep my kicks tied tight just in case,
because you never know when you gotta run a race.
A ball of water and dirt spinning in space,
some people call it earth, I think I like this place.
But if I don't have to work the alarms not on,
old news, no snooze, and the shades are drawn.
I'm fond of righting wrongs and I came from beyond,
so open your mouth and sing this song!

I guess that's just the way it is, I'm lookin' through the eyes
on my disguise and lovin' life under technicolor skies
are falling, calling out my name in shame and
blaming me for distributing this rain.
I never ride the rhythm, rather rabble-rouse the drum track
with tongue techniques for weeks, 'til other crews look dumb wack!
Stacking facts till were cracking backs, and slapping flat hats
off of stupid brats who drink way to much jack!
I'm still acting like a kid though, all I do is kick word play
'cause things will be okay, even if the Sun don't shine today.
There's a good chance it won't, so I stay positive until tomorrow.
Diggs chops the vinyl, Twat & Bee-Bop KILL the rhyme flow!
Homicidal smiles don't look as big as a child's soul
in the flow no real reason to act old.
Just roll another joint and stay positive, positive, positive
positive, positive, positive until tomorrow.

but I keep my kicks tied tight just in case,
because you never know when you gotta run a race.
A ball of water and dirt spinning in space,
some people call it earth, I think I like this place.
But if I don't have to work the alarms not on,
old news, no snooze, and the shades are drawn.
I'm fond of righting wrongs and I came from beyond,
so open your mouth and sing this song!
